Billy Elliot The Musical 2012 Auditions

We are really keen to meet with as many boys as possible. We want to spread the word that we are not simply looking at boys who have done lots and lots of dance – we are keen to meet with fresh, raw boys who have lots of potential. As well as looking for dancing boys for the role of Billy we will also be looking for boys for Michael. This role requires a lot less dance and really we are looking for a kid with a big personality who can make us laugh. Do call / email with any questions.

As part of their on-going audition process, Working Title and Old Vic Productions are looking for boys aged 9 to 13 years to audition for the roles of Billy and Michael in the west end production of Billy Elliot BOYS SHOULD BE A MAXIMUM OF 5 FT WITH NO BROKEN VOICES. TAP & BALLET EXPERIENCE IS A BONUS BUT NOT ESSENTIAL.

SOUTH PACIFIC UK TOUR – Auditions dates TBC

This very successful production has closed at the Barbican and is touring around the UK. The children will be cast locally in each venue. The playing dates are as follows:

Birmingham	February 6 – 18
Liverpool	Feb 20 – March 3
Stoke	March 5 – 17
Wimbledon	March 19 – 31
Edinburgh Playhouse	April 2 – 14
Cardiff	April 16 – 28
Sunderland	April 30 – May 12
Aylesbury	May 14 - 26
Nottingham	May 28 – June 9
Plymouth	June 11 – 23
Leeds	June 25 – July 7
Woking	July 9 – 21
Sheffield	July 23 – August 4
Dublin	August 6 – 18

We are looking for the following: Two or three teams of two children to play the roles of a girl Ngana and a boy Jerome. These children open the show and have to sing and dance. They must be dark skinned or at the very least mixed race but definitely not white, Asian, SE Asian or oriental looking. We also have two other children – the “Bloody Mary” Assistants who cover Ngana and Jerome.

Please make suggestions by email with colour photographs attached.Children should ideally be under 5 foot but the look is the most important. However they must still look like children and must not have reached puberty. They are aged 8 – 11. Children must be able to easily commute to the venue.
