Wild For Dance launches SOSA classes at DFA

Come along for a SOSA class every Wednesday at 6.30pm. SOSA is a low impact, high energy, entry level dance fitness program for women – DANCE YOURSELF HAPPY!

SOSA stands for “Solo Salsa” and, created by Katy Barrow in 2012, combines Salsa, Latin, Ballroom, Kizomba, Brazilian Zouk and a range of other international partner dance styles to create one fantastic fusion of dance fitness.  The steps are adapted to be danced solo, so you can learn these amazing dance styles, keep fit and meet other women all at the same time, without the need for a partner.

Our ladies-only classes are suitable for women of all shapes, sizes, ages and abilities.  Get ready to Dance Yourself Happy!

Who is your instructor?

Mark Wild runs Wild for Dance, offering professional tuition in Ballroom & Latin American Dance to adults and children of varying abilities in Edinburgh and the Lothians.

Originally from the North East of England, he danced socially and competitively from a young age and has trained with some of the UK’s top international coaches, including Margaret Redmond, Liverpool, Dance City and the Hillier School of Dance, Durham.  Mark has also trained in ballet and contemporary dance, and has performed with community and professional companies around the UK and internationally, including the Northern Youth Dance Company and balletLORENT.

As well as specialising in Ballroom & Latin, Wild for Dance is also committed to promoting the fantastic benefits of low impact exercise to general health and wellbeing, mainly through SOSA Dance Fitness® – a fun-packed, authentic, international dance workout for women.
