Dance For All’s Summer School is an energy-filled, fun-packed week of dance and musical theatre. They give enthusiastic young dancers from 6 years and over a chance to experience different forms of dance, choreography, and musical theatre, culminating in an exciting performance experience.
With age and level appropriate groups, our Summer School is a great opportunity to explore creativity through movement and song, have lots of fun, meet new friends, and have a totally thrilling time.

Dance For All’s popular Summer School is an energy-filled, fun-packed week of dance and musical theatre.
It gives enthusiastic young dancers a chance to experience different forms of dance (including jazz, contemporary, street dance*) and musical theatre, culminating in an exciting performance experience at the end of the week.
Led by Dance For All’s inspirational teachers, DFA’s Summer School is a great opportunity to explore creativity through movement and song, fun and games, to meet new friends, and have a totally thrilling week.

*The workshops will be built around attendees dance experience and level, from complete beginners to advanced. So bring your ballet, tap &/or jazz shoes if you have them or indoor gym shoes if you don’t have dance shoes. This week is all about creative expression and having fun with dance & musical theatre. It’s a great way to try out dance for the first time or develop your dance experience and make new friends.
DFA Summer School 2021 Teachers
Irene Allison
Originally from the west coast, Irene Allison RAD Teaching Diploma, AISTD, ASDTA, trained at the Theatre School of Dance and Drama. Following extensive touring in the USA as a Gathering of the Clans dancer, Irene returned to Scotland to teach. Irene was one of the first tutors to join Dance For All in the mid 1990’s. Providing Higher Dance tuition, special needs teaching and specialist day training for the Scottish Dance Teachers Alliance, she has been teaching Ballet, Tap, Jazz and Modern for many years, throughout the Lothians. She has also performed in a wide variety of shows, including Kiss me Kate and Brigadoon at the Edinburgh Kings Theatre and her choreography work includes Hatwalk, in collaboration with Stephen Wren.
Peter Twyman
Following training at the Scottish School of Contemporary Dance in Dundee, Peter Twyman CBTS RAD completed his BPA (Hons) at the NSCD in Leeds. Peter began teaching in Edinburgh in 2006 and has taught on the RAD Boys Only! Weekend Workshop since 2010. He has worked with the Royal Ballet, Dutch National Ballet, Frankfort Ballet, Canadian Opera Company, Scottish Ballet, Scottish Dance Theatre and the White Oak Dance Company on their summer courses and workshops. Regularly choreographing dances for our shows, Peter also works with Edinburgh Ballet Circle, organises local charity events for McDonald’s and choreographs the junior and senior displays with Kestrel Gymnastics Club who tour and compete throughout the UK. Peter has also performed with Edinburgh’s charitable amateur dance and dramatic organisations, including Tempo, The Bohemians, Showcase and Southern Light Orchestra in shows such as the King & I, Wizard of Oz and West Side Story.
